I love this time of year. The temperatures have dropped and it feels nice to snuggle under a blanket in the evenings. The leaves are at their peak and so beautiful. Here is a tree in our backyard. I can look at this from my kitchen sink.
Beautiful, isn't it? However, this small tree, and the others just like it around our house, just don't drop enough leaves to make a worthwhile pile to jump in. So, the kids and I headed to my parents' house on Friday for lunch and some fun in the leaves! They have several big trees and my dad saved some leaves just for us!
Early Saturday morning, we headed to the mountains so T could get some time in the woods before archery season ends. His brother and a friend were up so he headed out with them Saturday afternoon into the evening but they didn't see a thing. :-(
Sunday, we took a drive around and stopped at a beautiful lake at the top of the mountain.
Quintin LOVES skipping rocks!
The leaves have already dropped where we were, but it was still very beautiful and peaceful.
What did you do this weekend? Other than eat too much trick or treat candy? ;-)

How very beautiful and you can tell how much fun the kids were having. We are still having temps in the upper 70's here!!!

I flug food at my favorite people. :-D
Love those photos, LA. There's nothing like a huge pile of leaves -- unless, of course, you're the one who had to rake them to make them a huge pile of leaves in the first place....
What a fun time! We don't have leaves to jump in, either - but maybe piles of pine needles :)
We enjoyed the outdoors this weekend - hiking, baseball, soccer fun. We would have poured concrete on Saturday if anyone would have delivered :) Is RQ coming to AL?

What beautiful trees!! We don't have any trees yet that are big enough to drop leaves either. We have to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house but when it's time to do that...it will be freezing cold outside.
~sigh~
We raked all those stinkin' leaves out of our yard! It would have been so much more fun to jump in them.
Oh, and on Sunday we....you already know :)
Looking good, LA. :-D
Oh my goodness, I could almost move. :)
We've got PLENTY of leaves around here that we would LOVE to share with you...of course, you may have to rake them into piles first. ;o)
The scenery is so beautiful and the colors are awesome. Looks like so much fun.
Oh girl - what great shots. That tree is so perfectly red! And the kiddos...well, cute as can be!
