Back-seat Driver - Tiny Talk Tuesday

While driving, T was trying to adjust the music so the kids' songs would play only in the back of the yukon. Nothing against their music, but it is nice to chat while they sing in the back seat!!

As he was attempting to make the adjustments, he kept turning their music off and switching it to the radio. After the third or fourth time, and having finally gotten it straightened out, Elle advises, "Now, no touch buttons any mo'!"

On another family outing, Elle says, "Dad, I'm 'joying the ride."

T answers, somewhat clueless, "That's great Elle."

I looked at him and asked, "You know why she's saying that don't you?"

"No," came the response.

"How many times has she heard you say, 'Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!' after she's started to whine or fuss?"

We were thankful she was able to 'joy the ride before the fussing even began!!

It's so great you can keep a record of all these priceless little things the kids say. Some of these little things are the things you will remember most as they grow and you no longer hear the cute statements of childhood.

Love T's advice to the kids. We just say, "DEAL WITH IT!" at this point in our "child's" life.

Very cute! The first one reminded me of when my daughter tells me to put down the remote once her show is on.

Now why is it that I have the urge to sing, "Life is a Highway." Cute. Cute.

I love both of those stories and it would be so hard not to laugh at the first one about the buttons. So funny!

Awww, she is so cute! I can't wait to hear the things Molly will say. She is starting to say a few words now.

whew- I'm glad that she was saying joying the ride not joy riding. Sophie has also told me to stop pressing the buttons, especially with the remote control and the tv. What really messes her up is the stereo controls on ths steering wheel. She keeps saying "wow mommy, the song changed all by itself".
